SPRING CLASSIC

In 2011 the Grand Prairie Police Department teamed up with a local business to create an event that would allow motorcycle officers to give back to the communities they serve. The Spring Classic Police Motorcycle Training and Skills Competition is recognized as a 501 (c) (3) organization. The money raised from the competition goes to support the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

The Grand Prairie Police Department is proud to host the 13th Annual Spring Classic Police Motorcycle Training and Skills Competition. This year’s competition will take place April 10th - 13th, 2024. The main competition days will be Friday and Saturday, April 14th & 15th. This year’s event will be held at The Epic, 2960 Epic Place, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052.

Since the first competition, we have continued to grow and evolve. In 2014 we were glad to be able to introduce a new element, hosting the 1st annual Spring Classic Civilian Motorcycle Competition in conjunction with the police competition. This competition allows civilian and police riders to compete on the same courses, helping to promote rider training amongst civilian motorcycle enthusiasts. This continues to be a unique element of our event and we are excited to carry on the tradition of allowing civilian riders to compete alongside police officers!

The four-day event brings together officers from across the region to participate in valuable training that keeps them safe while performing their normal duties. The competition allows the officers to have fun while showing off their riding skills in front of spectators and having an opportunity to interact with the public in a non-enforcement role.

Through entry fees, sales and donations made at the event, and the support of our sponsors, we are able to make a sizeable contribution to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, and in turn, support the Special Olympic Athletes and Special Olympics movement as a whole.
